How To Brew Using A Chemex

Recipe: 30 Grams Freshly Roasted Apotheos Coffee 500 Grams of Water at 205 Degrees 4-5 Minutes of Brew Time Mocha Java is one of the oldest if not the oldest blend recipes in the world. It originated in Yemen, from the port of Mokha. Legend has it that barrels of coffee from Yemen and Indonesia were being transported and spilled over, blending together. Rather than wasting the product, the blended coffee was roasted and opened up the idea of blending coffees from different parts of the world together for a unique taste.
Our Mocha Java contains a blend of coffees from Sumatra and Ethiopia, expertly crafted to pay homage to this original coffee blend. Roasted to a true medium, this blend is able to showcase the best parts of both coffees, with the Natural Ethiopian coffee providing a bright, citrus forward palate, perfectly balanced with the grounding, earthy, herbal notes that often accompany Sumatran coffee. This blend in particular is perfectly suited for drip brewing and pour overs such as a Chemex or v60.
